She is a halfpipe specialist from Colorado.At the 2006 Winter X Games, she was a 4th place finisher in halfpipe. She took 3rd in the Vans’ Cup Superpipe and 1st at the Nissan Aspen/Snowmass Open.During the 2009 season, she finished eighth at the season's first stop of the U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix tour. She suffered a broken heel that demanded she sit out the rest of the year to heal. She is sponsored by Nikita, Giro, and US Snowboarding.

Bruna Schmitz is a Brazilian professional surfer who competes on the Association of Surfing Professionals Women's World Tour. Schmitz was featured in a pictorial photographed in Banff in the 2011 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, along with javelin thrower Leryn Franco and volleyball player Kim Glass. Though Bruna Schmitz finished 2010 ranked 15th on the ASP Women’s World Tour, she’s rated much higher in eyes of the Sports Illustrated staff, as she’s just been awarded a coveted spot as one of the ladies of the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
